Restaurant "Pagoda Building"

Restaurant at 912 Ridge Lake Boulevard in Memphis was totally destroyed
by fire on the morning of February 22, 2008. The distinctive building
had been a popular eatery for Memphians for 29 years.The Memphis Fire Department reported it determined the building did not have a working sprinkler system at the time of the blaze. The popular restaurant featured a pagoda type of building which was at least as distinctive from the outside as the restaurant was on the inside.  Eleven months later, the
restaurant opened in a new building at the same site. The new
structure, however, does not have the same external distinctiveness as
the former one. Therefore, Landmark and Legend has decided to keep this
page to commemorate the transition of the pagoda style architecture of
the restaurant into history.  |
